A magazine : Projections

With many surveys, columns and reports, the magazine Projections endeavoured to inform and discuss questions that bind cinema and television to our daily life.

Since its creation in May 2001, under the title Cinéville, and when it became Projections - actions Cinéma/audiovisuel later on in October 2002, our magazine has always tried to account for cultural events (film and broadcasting), events off the beaten tracks that supported Film Education.

Due to a complex situation to handle and to the wishes of our financial partners, we have stopped the three-monthly paper publication of the magazine.
Projections is published once a year at the same time as the National Forum Passeurs d’images. The articles can also be found in the sections "Reflections" et "Ressources" of this site.

The issues from the magazines "Cinéville" and “Projections” are still available in their paper form. You can contact Kyrnéa by mail (contact@passeursdimages.fr) or by phone (0033 (0)1 47 70 71 71) to order past issues.

N. B. : Only Projections n°29/30 has been edited in french and english ; others issues are not translated.

Diversity(ies)
In order to support and continue the reflection conducted during the National Forum 2010, Projections offers special reports on topics that have been discussed during round-table conferences or special days devoted to youth : fictional universes in new media, cultural diversity and media, publics and reception, slam, sound in films, remakes and films “done as”, and Passeurs d’images’ trends for 2009/2010. You can also find the complete programme of the Forum and lots of information about each projected film.

European Forums on Youth and Images - REJI 2008
When we decided, back in 2007, to have a second edition of the European Forums on Youth and Images, it was obvious that we had to devote a special issue of the magazine to Europe. We have decided to gather all information on Film Education in Europe. This is a wide topic, hazardous and filled with surprises.

Passeurs d’images
Due to a decrease in financial aid in 2008, it seemed that film and cultural actions, as well as projects on film education, had to expand their constructions and their partnerships. We thus found it necessary to revisit all these actions and reflections that we had brought out by displaying them in an issue. In order to do so, we have decided to offer you a 160-page “double issue”.

Audiences
In this issue dated 2007, we have decided to talk about audiences. Not in quantitative terms, as it is done in the film industry, but by trying to draw some reflections on the way the audience seizes different film events that it is offered and on the way professionals look at these audiences.

Showing
There are so many projections that it would have been impossible for us to be exhaustive and to enumerate all actions or catalogues that proposed to show films. We have selected a few of them that seemed to offer a real questioning on the future.

We wanted to share with you all successes, difficulties, joys and questionings encountered in this network on Film Education. In order to do so, we found it logic to underline some actions, region by region.
