Launching day
Each year, the initiative and the films are presented for one day in late September. Lines of reflecting on the films are also proposed. It usually first takes place in Paris and a second time in the French provinces. It is open to intermediaries from Educational Services of the PJJ (Judicial Youth Protection), to regional joint committees of "Passeurs d’images", to all concerned correspondents of DIRPJJ (Interregional Direction of Judicial Youth Protection), of DDPJJ (Departmental Direction of Judicial Youth Protection), to all DRAC (Regional Boards of Cultural Affairs) as well as all regional committees of Acsé (National Agency for Social Cohesion and Equal Opportunities).
Screenings
The sessions of "Des cinés, la vie !" are organised by the Judicial Youth Protection Services of reference. The frequency and the conditions regarding the projections are defined according to the possibilities of each service. A group screening followed by a discussion remains nonetheless the preferred choice. Projections can be organised in the services or, depending on the locally implemented partnerships, in other places equipped with screening rooms (cinemas, multimedia libraries, etc.) The Judicial Youth Protection Services of reference are free to choose the order in which to screen the films, and their organization during each screening. The Judicial Youth Protection Services of reference must propose all films selected by young people.
The votes
Each young person can vote for his favourite film and thus become juror of the "Des cinés, la vie !" award. Votes are gathered by Judicial Youth Protection Services of reference within each service and transmitted at a national level for the counting.
The individual vote of young participants
The voters are all young participants under or above 18 welcomed in one of the aforementioned structures, in whatever way they are taken in charge of, and who will have the possibility to watch the whole corpus. Each young person can vote, by filling in a voting form, for one single film among those he/she has watched in the selection according to this principle : 1 young = 1 voice.
Transmission of votes and assessments in Kyrnéa
The initiator of reference in the service collects each voting paper. The head of the service transmits, directly by mail to Kyrnéa, all voting papers, along with the assessment work, which he/she will have filled in him/herself.
Conditions for Votes Recognition
Individual votes collected in a service will be recognised as long as they will come with the assessment work of the service filled in by the person of reference, and that this assessment work indicates that all 12 selected films have been shown to young participants.
N.B. : Voting papers and assessment works will soon be downloadable on the website of the initiative.
The award
The "Des cinés, la vie !" award is given to the director whose film received most voices.
A prize-giving day
Young participants give the “Des cinés, la vie !” award during a day in late march at the Cinémathèque française in Paris. This day offers young people and their supervisors activities related to films : projections, the chance to meet the director of the awarded film and other directors from the selection (according to their disponibilities).
This day is open to young people who took part in the initiative and their supervisors, which is subject to availability. Application is free. For all persons whose application has been validated, invitations will be sent by mail to all involved services. In order to register to this day, services must return their application form through the correct channels and to Kyrnéa. Travel, accommodation and meal expenses are the responsibility of the services. It is highly recommended to Judicial Youth Protection Services of reference to anticipate these expenses.

Assessment Day
An assessment of the initiative is done by the steering committee. Judicial Youth Protection Services of reference are invited to send the assessment work of the initiative, to remain available to the steering committee in order to provide complementary information that could be needed, to welcome, if need be, an observer, within each screening of “Des cinés, la vie !” and to take part in the assessment day. The assessment is available online on the website in the section devoted to the initiative.
